The story so far
My name is Donal McKinley and I am one of the McKinley family who own Sheans Horse Farm. We are a family run horse riding centre based on the 300 acre McKinley Family farm in the hills of North Antrim.
My father, Danny, bought Sheans farm in 1989 and today, it is still very much a family run business with myself, my Dad Danny, my mum Mary, sister Therese and cousin Daniel involved.
Our goal is to provide quality experiences where visitors get the most out of the time they spend with us. To enjoy our horses, to come alive with the uniqueness of the experiences, to accomplish something, to feel welcome and to connect with the people, the place and our horses.
We have a fantastic team of employees and volunteers and can cater for all levels of riders from complete beginner to experienced riders, from 4 years up! We have been able to establish ourselves as one of the most extensive off-road horse riding facilities in Ireland as well as one of the top things to do in Belfast, the Causeway Coast and indeed the whole of Northern Ireland for kids, families and all kinds of riders.
Come along and enjoy the Freedom, Fun and Buzz of an experience at Sheans!

The most laid back pony you will meet but lots of our kids can find his higher gears. Loves his cuddles and treats
Fudge - 14 years old
This is Jack’s absolute best buddy. He is a horse fit for a King or Queen but often enjoys a slower pace of life

Rehoming Horses and Ponies
We are happy to accept the gift of older horses and ponies that may be of use for light work in our riding school and trekking centre, giving them a good quality of life in their twilight years. We are also open to rehoming other horses and ponies where necessary.
