Grass Livery
Along with our own horses we provide grass livery from April to November.
With a good grazing policy, we rotate animals around the farm, grazing paddocks,
resting and re-growing grass.
We graze a flock of sheep to control the rough growth,
weeds and the level of parasites in the sward. Liveries are mostly young sports horses
and thoroughbreds being brought forward to 3 years old.
We can provide separate grazing for
individual animals or groups of horses. Where suitable some animals can be
added to a herd.
On arrival, all animals are isolated for 10 days as a form
of quarantine before being admitted to the main grazing areas. This is
important particularly for the show-jumping horses that have been on the circuit
and are being let off for a break.
We recommend that all horses are vaccinated
for flu and tetanus and that all horses are dosed for worms on arrival.
