Riders are welcome to bring to Sheans their own horses or ponies and use the facilities - the main arena, tracks and lanes.
The main arena measures 50metres by 30metres and is situated west of the yard in a sheltered setting surrounded by earth embankments in the natural cover of trees with the mountains rising in the background.
The full set of coloured jumps can simulate a competition layout, as at shows and events. We intend to convert an existing loft into a viewing gallery where parents or visitors can socialize and relax in comfort and warmth while watching what is going on in the arena.
The lanes and tracks which are all off-road, give riders the opportunity to ride in a safe environment with interesting terrain and splendid panoramic views over the surrounding countryside.
Our plan is to introduce a few more jumps around the track for the more advanced riders or for people who wish to school or improve the fitness of their horses.
We intend to develop a cross-country course on the farm in 2008, for all levels of riders. This will be accessible from the tracks and lanes around the farm.
